Inspection Checklist

Front End Damage

Front-end damage is the most common auction damage type. It can range from cosmetic panel damage to serious structural issues. Key areas to inspect before purchase:

Frame and unibody — check for bent rails, misaligned gaps, or signs of straightening
Airbag system — confirm deployment status; replacement can exceed $3,000
Radiator, condenser, and cooling system — inspect for leaks and mounting damage
Hood, fenders, and bumper cover — assess panel alignment and paint matching
Headlights and front sensors — ADAS components can be expensive to recalibrate
Engine bay — look for fluid leaks, cracked mounts, and disconnected hoses
Check for VIN consistency across hood, dashboard, and door jamb plates
